Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Last night, Doug and I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert at Energy Solutions Arena. The tickets were a Christmas gift to Doug since he loves them so much. Now I know why! The concert was amazing! It was something akin to hair metal mixed with Christmas music.

We started off our night with dinner at The Copper Onion. I read some great reviews online and Doug and I can't resist a gourmet burger. I didn't think to make reservations since it was a Wednesday night. I should have. The place was packed with a 30 minute wait! We ended up sitting at the chef's table right next to the area where they were cooking the food. It was kind of hectic since all the servers were picking up food right next to me, but it was so fun to be right next to the chefs!

I felt like I was part of a Food Network show where they get a behind the scenes look at how they cook all of the signature dishes. Doug and I both got the copper onion burger and it was a-mahzing!

Next time we go, I'm definitely trying the carbonara since it looked and smelled so good! I was tempted to pick some off of the plates next to me!

Then we headed over to the church office building to park and walk to ESA (one of the benefits of working for the church-free parking!). We detoured through temple square to see the lights, which were predictably breathtaking.

We made it to ESA with time to spare until the concert started. My favorite song, Carol of the Bells, was around the middle of the concert and it was so exciting! My heart was beating so hard and I was giddy excited while they were playing it! The strobe lights and laser show were probably my favorite part, but the music was equally as good.

Overall, the night was a success!
